ITINERARY - New Orleans & Biloxi after Katrina

B, L, D=Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.  Some breakfasts may be “deluxe continental” with cold cereal, fruit, juice, beverage. This sample Itinerary is subject to change.

Day 1: We depart and the party begins! Your SeniorTours escort rides with you to host fun, games, cocktails, soft drinks, juices, snacks and entertainment on board your motor coach!  Today we ride through Virginia, with lodging in the Richmond, VA area. D

Day 2: After breakfast, more fun, games, and good times on board the motor coach as we continue southward into the vicinity of Atlanta. B, D

Day 3: This afternoon, we arrive at the South’s newest, most deluxe resort, the Beau Rivage, our home for the next 5 nights.  Check-in, unpack and enjoy!  Anyone for gaming fun tonight?  After a delicious “Welcome to Mississippi” dinner, why not try your luck in the casino! B, D

Day 4: After breakfast, board your coach for the pleasant ride up the Gulf to “The city that care forgot”, New Orleans!  We’ll enjoy a tour of “N’Orlins” with our own local expert guide riding our motorcoach.  Plenty of time afterward to wander the quaint streets of the French Quarter and French Market.  Dinner is served at a popular local restaurant. B, D

Day 5: All aboard after breakfast today for an excursion to visit quaint Gulf Springs (or Mobile, for the famous Mardi Gras celebration on Feb 5th).  We‘ll return with time to enjoy the many pleasures of our posh resort.  How about a stroll on the beach, some golf, a spa massage or a dip in the jaccuzzi?  Later, enjoy dinner at an elegant area restaurant. B, D

Day 6: A sweet southern morning and a leisurely breakfast.  This afternoon, we’re returning to New Orleans for another "up-close" visit to New Orleans.   We'll begin the day with a visit to the new National World War II Museum for a look at the stories of the American men and women who prevailed in an epic struggle against tyranny.  You will learn how they lived, fought and died for our freedom in the most titanic war in world history.  Afterward, we board an authentic paddle wheeler for a cruise on the mighty Mississippi.  Later, dinner is served at one of the city's most venerable restaurants, Tujagues, the 2nd oldest in the French Quarter, since 1856.  After a delicious dinner, we'll enjoy a walking tour of the French Quarter.  Later we'll experience Bourbon Street's sights, sounds and tastes (Love that Dixieland Jazz!).  We’ll stroll down Bourbon Street on our nightclub tour, stopping for entertainment and cocktails at two of New Orleans' hot-spots!  We end our evening the traditional New Orleans way, with coffee and beignets at the famous Cafe du Monde...just like before Katrina's visit. B, D

Day 7: After our leisurely morning, we'll board the coach to tour the area surrounding Biloxi, and hear from a local expert guide about courageous battles with Mother Nature, and the efforts toward rebuilding.  Later, relax at your deluxe resort, place a wager, or luxuriate in the spa. B, D

Day 8: Bye, Bye, Gulf Coast!  After breakfast we begin our ride northward, bound for the Atlanta, GA, area.  More fun on the motorcoach today! B, D

Day 9: The "good times" continue, with Bingo, fun, games, refreshments, and entertainment, SeniorTours Style!  We'll ride into VA today. B, D

Day 10: More fun and friendship, as we continue our journey homeward, filled with fond memories of great times. B
