Included Tour Highlights: ITINERARYBoothbay Harbor Seacoast Spectacular B, D=Breakfast, Dinner. This sample Itinerary is subject to change. Day 1: We're off! Stretch out in the video-equipped motor coach! We’re en route to New England. Throughout your trip, we'll make frequent comfort stops, and your friendly Seniortours escort is on board to help make the ride very special, with fun, games, free cocktails, soft drinks and snacks—compliments of Seniortours. En route to our hotel, we’ll stop off for dinner and casino fun at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun, with the best package available. Hope “Lady Luck” is smiling on you! Dinner voucher is included this evening. DDay 2: Good morning! After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll board our coach and journey towards coastal New England. We're bound for Maine! We'll be stopping for lunch (on our own) at Portland's historic waterfront district. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a tour past historic sea captains' homes overlooking the Calendar Islands dotting Casco Bay, and a photo stop at Portland Head lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse in America! Then we're on to Boothbay Harbor and our waterfront Boothbay Harbor Inn. This popular Inn is located literally on the waterfront in the hub of the quaint resort, next to the famous footbridge, which provides easy access to the center of town. Upon arrival we'll be treated to a Welcome Reception. Later, dinner is served-off the menu! Savor the selections of fresh seafood, New England specialties, and of course, Maine lobster. After dinner we'll be treated to an evening of musical entertainment in the Inn's cozy lobby. B, D Day 3: After a full breakfast in the hotel dining room, we'll meet our guide for a full day exploring mid-coast Maine region. We'll begin by traveling north along the coast to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Next, we'll continue to the town of Thomaston where we'll be able to browse at the Maine State Prison Givet Shop, featuring unique gifts made by the inmates (don't laugh, you'll enjoy it). A few miles north is Camden and a photo stop atop Mt. Battie, where the mountains meet the sea. Camden's winding streets are filled with art galleries, boutiques and a harbor that is home to Maine's windjammer fleet, and we'll have lunch here, on our own. This evening, we'll enjoy a real old-fashioned Down East Style Clambake with all the fixin's: Clam chowder, steamed clams and mussels, two lobsters (steak or chicken available for those who don't want lobster), corn on the cob, dessert and beverage. Enjoy! B, D Day 4: After a full breakfast, start your day by touring to Ocean Point, one of the most scenic spots along the rock-bound coast of Maine. After returning to the Inn, we'll depart for a two-hour boat cruise of Boothbay Harbor and the neighboring islands. Be sure to bring your camera because this is some of the most photographed coastal scenery to be found anywhere! The afternoon is free to relax or explore the quaint village of Boothbay Harbor. Dinner tonight at a local favorite. B, D Day 5: A final hearty Maine breakfast, and then we’re off. Farewell Maine! We have a full day of fun on the coach, “Seniortours-style” today as we find ourselves happily heading southward towards home. B |
