ITINERARY—Georgia's Golden Isles & Okefenokee!

Day 1: We’re off! Frequent comfort stops, fun, games, complimentary "all day happy hours", cocktails & snacks, hosted by your SeniorTours escort!  First-class accommodations this evening in Roanoke Rapids, NC, just over the Virginia border.

Day 2: More fun aboard the coach, today, as we head into the south’s heartland, bound for the historic Jekyll Island, Georgia!  This afternoon we’ll check into the posh and historic Jekyll Island Club, once the winter resort of millionaires and now our own home-away-from-home for the next three nights. Time to relax a bit and freshen up before dinner, served tonight at a local favorite. CB, D

Day 3: After breakfast, we're off for a tour of picturesque St. Simons Island and Sea Island with our own local expert.  We'll have time for luncheon (on your own) followed by leisurely meandering through the charming village.  This evening, we enjoy dinner at a favorite Island restaurant. B, D

Day 4: A Southern breakfast, followed by a tour of fascinating Jekyll Island and the Historic District, with our guide.  “The Land of the Trembling Earth” is the translation of the Indian word for "Okefenokee" and the area is as prehistoric and primitive as the name implies - for here is a part of America's heritage virtually unchanged for centuries.  A most unique experience is ours today as we visit mysterious Okefenokee Swamp and enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch and a scenic boat ride.  A special dinner tonight! Day 5: Farewell, Jekyll Island.  We begin our ride northward, with overnight accommodations near the North Carolina-Virginia border. B

Day 6: After breakfast, with more good times on board our motor coach, we continue our journey back to home-sweet-home. CB
