THE HISTORIC BRANDON INN
Established in 1786, the Brandon Inn is now proudly listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Inn is truly a gem of antiquity. All of her 37 rooms are distinctly different, and decorated with a variety of antiques—but even nicer than they looked 100 years ago, 'cause now they even have "new-fangled" radios in each room! Located in the center of Brandon, the Inn overlooks the Village Green in what has been called "the last real Vermont town".
Day 1: We're off with your friendly Seniortours escort on board the deluxe motorcoach to host complimentary cocktails, snacks, beverages, fun and games. After lunch en route, we'll prepare for our afternoon arrival in Brandon, the quintessentially Vermont "hometown", and our own home-away-from-home for the next few days. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by the staff with a Welcome Wine & Cheese Reception in the living room. A delicious four course dinner is served in the dining room. This evening relax and enjoy the amenities of the Inn. (D)
Day 2: After breakfast, we board the coach with our local guide for a day of touring. Today we travel to Neighborly Farms where we will see the production and sample some of their wonderful, organic cheddar cheeses. Next, we travel to Montpelier, Vermont's State Capital, where we'll have some time to browse the shops or have a bite to eat (Montpelier is home of the New England Culinary Institute, so you may choose to have lunch on your own in one of their world-class restaurants). This afternoon we travel to the Morse Sugar Farm, where we'll learn about maple sugaring, followed by a traditional "sugar-on-snow" treat. This evening, another wonderful four course dinner is served at the Inn followed by light entertainment in the living room. (B,D)
Day 3: Following breakfast, we travel to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Experience hands-on history and discover stories of Lake Champlain's citizens and soldiers, merchants, mariners and boat builders. Explore four acres of exhibits and celebrate Lake Champlain's 400th Anniversary. Afterward, we'll continue to Burlington, VT, where we visit the historic Church Street Marketplace. Enjoy some free time for lunch and browsing in over 160 shops and restaurants. This afternoon we visit the Shelburne Vineyards, where we'll enjoy a guided tour and wine-tasting in this beautiful vineyard overlooking Lake Champlain. We'll conclude our day with a visit to Dakin Farms "Vermont's Tastiest Attraction". A marvelous farewell dinner is served at the Inn followed by light entertainment in the living room. (B,D)
Day 4: Breakfast is served in the Wicker Dining Room before our departure. More lovely New England countryside to enjoy and more fun on the motorcoach as we head south, bound for home. (B)
